Getting Started

Cloudways is a managed cloud-hosting platform used to deploy and operate websites without configuring every part of the underlying server manually.

After launching a website, review its domain, security, backups, performance, and administrative access before making it publicly available.

Recommended Setup

1. Connect the domain. Update the domain’s DNS records so visitors reach the correct website.
2. Enable HTTPS. Install and verify an SSL certificate to protect traffic between the website and its visitors.
3. Secure administrator access. Use unique credentials, strong passwords, and multi-factor authentication where available.
4. Configure backups. Choose an appropriate backup schedule and confirm that restoration works.
5. Review performance. Test caching, image sizes, page speed, and application behavior before launch.
6. Set up monitoring. Watch availability, resource usage, errors, and unexpected traffic changes.

Before Publishing

• Remove placeholder pages and sample content.
• Confirm that contact forms and transactional email work correctly.
• Check the website on mobile and desktop screens.
• Verify privacy, cookie, and legal notices appropriate to the website.
• Keep applications, themes, plugins, and dependencies updated.

Once these checks are complete, the site is ready for final content review and public launch.
